Once again, I was supposed to be studying but had a better idea. I was actually going to cut up an old mission skirt but I accidently cut it too short, so I made Morgan a skirt.
Then I just got in the mode and had this material left over from another project. I used one of Morgan's other shirts for a pattern and just started cutting. I'm not exactly one for perfection, but just for having fun.

It's official: I sew!
I've been doing little sewing projects here and there for a couple of years. However, I didn't know how to really sew and didn't have a sewing machine so I have had much tutoring from friends along the way (mostly Kristi). However, about a month ago, I decided it was time. I went to Shappley's and picked myself out a machine.
I've been having great fun since. It's a great excuse not to study. I have been working on a couple things but couldn't post them until I gave them away as presents. Now the present giving is done so here they are.
This is Alayna's blanket. It was my first project all by myself. I had a great time picking out the material.
This is the boppy cover I made for Cara. Don't look too close.
I also made two hats for a friend but I forgot to take pictures.

I'm Stuck
So Morgan's not crawling but she scoots backwards. She kind of slides around on the laminate floors but doesn't have much control over where she is going. Yesterday, she was watching Baby Einstein as I was pulling weeds in the front yard with the door open. Then I hear her starting to squack so I came in to check on her and this is what I saw. She was stuck under the couch. It was pretty funny so had to take some pictures.

Valentine's Week!
We have kind of had a Valentine's week. It started last Saturday. I told Brent I thought it would be better to go out to dinner last week instead of this week to beat the rush and to be able to find a babysitter. Then we decided we didn't need to spend money to celebrate Valentine's anyway and said we would just stay home. Then a friend who Brent had done a little service for, gave him a gift card to the Outback Steakhouse. So we changed our mind and decided we could go out after all. We called a babysitter last minute (thanks Katie) and headed to the Outback. It turns out we didn't beat the rush after all and still had to wait 50 min. So we took advantage of our time alone and ran to the Dollar Tree (one of my favorite stores) and to Circuit City (one of Brent's favorite stores). Then we enjoyed a wonderful dinner. It was a great night, all for less than $10. Sorry no pictures. I brought my camera and everything, we just forgot.
Valentine's has continued throughout this week. I have been a little busier than usual and Brent has more than picked up the slack. He has done the dishes multiple times, vacuumed the floors, did laundry, cooked lunch and dinner, and watched Morgan. I have appreciated it so much and it has given me a little free time shop and work on a blanket for a friend.
Yesterday we made pizza together for lunch and I decided to add a little Valentine fun by cutting my Canadian Bacon into hearts with a cookie cutter. I thought it was cute and we even had Sparkling Cider with our meal. We also have plans for what we are cooking for dinner tomorrow together. It has been great to be able to spend time together this week. Thanks for everything you have done Brent and continue to do. I love you. Happy Valentines Day!

Vroom Vroom
Don't mess with this Princess
Morgan started doing this during Sunday School this past week. The first few rows had a hard time concentrating. Perhaps the most entertaining thing is that we can't figure out what provokes it, she just starts grunting. We had to catch it on video. Enjoy!
Morgan's Gymnastics Debut
Okay so I've been a total slacker and haven't posted forever, but a friend of mine took these pictures and it was the perfect excuse to get back in the game. We were at a YW slumber party and Morgan was just sitting on the floor playing while we talked. Before we knew it, she was doing the splits and showing off. Luckily Amy had her camera because now we have these pictures.
