Brent's 29!

Yesterday was Brent's Golden Birthday! For his dinner, he chose to have homemade Pizza.

We went bowling with some friends to celebrate and had a great time.

Then came back to our place for cake and ice cream. When I asked him what kind of cake he wanted, he said, "A fundus cake." Like I knew what that was. Then he described to me that it is the inside of the eye and showed me pictures in his Kanski book. The white part is the optic nerve and the licorice are the veins and arteries. Not the prettiest cake but that is what he wanted.

Sadly it took him three blows to get all of his candles out. You'd never guess he used to be a runner.

Morgan's two new favorite things

Drawing

and Peas

She's always eaten peas a little. She would eat them in the baby food jar but lately they have become her candy. She will just eat them and eat them. I figure there could be worse things for her to love.

Wiiiiiii!

Morgan was as excited as Daddy to get a Wii for Father's Day/Birthday.

Just a Little Storm

Those of you who live here, know this was more than a little storm. The sirens were going and the news is saying get in the most inside room of your house, so I went outside to take some pictures. The first time I looked out the window one of these trees was blown over, within a few minutes, I looked again, and the other one was down. As you can see, the trunk snapped right in half.

Then I went out the back door just to check on things and see that our neighbor's trampoline has jumped the fence. Yes, this used to be on the other side of the fence there and it completely jumped the fence and landed in the tree. It broke off about the top two feet of the fence but the rest just cleared it. After taking the picture, I ran to help get it unstuck because we were afraid it would hit a car or another fence. The weather calmed down shortly after that but they said winds were up to 68 mph. Morgan slept soundly in her crib during the whole thing.

Sorry the images are blurry but it was still raining and I was a little nervous.

Morgan's New Friend

A friend of mine went back to work so I have been watching her two month old son a couple of days a week. When Morgan got up the other day, Hudson was still sleeping, sort of but Morgan took care of that.

She loves watching him sleep, swing, eat or whatever. She just loves watching him. It's been pretty fun for both of us.

First Swim

Well first swim of the year that is.

Morgan was a little hesitant at first but actually so was mom. Notice Morgan holding her leg out of the water. It had been a hot day but we didn't get in until the evening and it wasn't exactly hot any more.

She got used to it though and had a pretty good time. Mom eventually got in a little more too. Thanks Nicki for inviting us over.
